I went out and uncovered the boat, hooked my H2O adapter to the inlet and the boat fired right up and revved nicely. It accelerated smoothly through the RPM's.

WTF? Things don't go this well for me...

The weird thing is that I had a sputter problem during a quick throttle up even when running it at home with no load. It disappeared (with no load).

Was joking - just an old saying. But it's great you have a properly functioning OMC! I have an '89 4.3 bought new and have never had a problem for the most part. I do have a minor problem with ESA or interrupter only in reverse (trying to get off the trailer).
