We have noticed that a lot of board memebers are starting new posts to ask the same questions, over and over.

Board space is at a premium. With so many posts board speed diminishes. Also starting a new post may not provide someone interested with all the information and opinions already given. In other words, your question gets diluted.

Please continue on with the first post that you started. If you want to add more information or bump it up, simply reply to your original post.

Thank You.

Moderator1

Re: NOTICE TO ALL!!

Amen Mod1. Multiple posts makes it very hard to follow to say the least.

I'm not sure that everybody understands that nobody gets paid to answer these questions. We are only trying to give something back to the sport we all love. It's much better to "bump" your own post than start over. There are new folks joining in everyday who may very well have good answers to the questions. Lets not confuse them right away. Lol!

BTW - several times I have answered a "double post" and somebody has pointed that out to me. I appreciate that!

Good luck to the fastest growing community on the web!

Re: NOTICE TO ALL!!

I am soo sad to see a post like "Billy" made. I have learned a lot of wisdom from a lot of people and I actually feel good to come in here and see how others are able to help each other out with there free wisdom. I am so thankful to iboats and the people that keep this site going... even under the rude remarks that are made from those who come seek out FREE advise. If I was running this site (which is not a good thing for me to do) I would have canned "Billy" from using this site. I credit everything that I am able to learn from here to you guys. I tell friends about you all and how you have helped me. JUST makes me ill to see bad manners from folks. Just had to post this and get it out of my system.

Re: NOTICE TO ALL!!

Hello, just wanted you guys to know how much I appreciate this website. The problems I have had with my motor and the help I have had from this board, in combination with being jobless for a year and a half(due to the new gun laws here in Cali) I think I want to go to outboard repair school. Does anyone know if I can make it? Or a good school I can call??????

Re: NOTICE TO ALL!!

10 years ago or so, maybe less, if a guy needed help\questions answered about his boat\motor, he had to rely on the local, sometimes not so local, boat repair shop. Sometimes was a good thing, sometimes it was not, especially if the repair shop was not a local repair shop, where you knew the mechanic personally. Really bad if you are an out of towner, the boat motor needs repaired, and the repair shop is run by not so honest people. So, I am very thankfull for this site, and the internet, and the ability to question the boating experts on this site, and getting loads of excellent, free, advice, simply by asking. Often times repair shops do not want to spend the time helping boat owners with all their problems\questions, and I don't blame them. They need to get paid for their time. They have bills to pay just like everyone else. What is great about this site is that the boat experts that have a few extra minutes\hours time to spare, can use that time to help the less expeireinced boaters, like me, and not charge an arm and a leg for it. So, alls I can say is Thank God For America, And Thank God For iboats.com!!! I have learned more about boats on this site in the last week since I found this site than I have in the last 13 years since I bought my boat!!! Maybe that's just a little bit of an exageration, but, I still have learned a lot from the experts on this site!!!

Re: NOTICE TO ALL!!

I forgot to mention, if the moderator of this site states not to keep adding new posts for the same topic, I agree with him. The less posts, the less clutter, and the less posts I have to search through to find out needed information. I will try to abide by those rules, and, since this is a free site, I would hope others would do the same.

Sorry for posting twice in separate topics. First time posting and am currently learning the rules. Guess that is why I am a First Mate.
