would make a good retirement home for sailors<br /><br />what a bargain, 700,000 gets you a good sized McMansion ... or a helll of a start on the ultimate yacht, just buy 300 feet of deepwater frontage and have the home oil guy drop off a truck full of oil to keep the generator turbines going ... of course, at a quarter million gallons to top er off, the 401K better be in good shape!<br /><br />Still isnt big enough for those Heavy Weather waves tho, to paraphrase a famous line from Jaws, gonna need a BIGGER boat!!

Must be a typo...<br />225,000 Gallons?? <br />That fuel at 8.66#/Gallon would weigh almost 2 million pounds...<br />Thats 1000 tons, more than a third of its gross tonnage.<br />Not only that, The "buy it now price" is worth about the value of all that fuel at $3. a Gallon. <br /><br />Very impressive boat though

Water is 8+ lbs per gal. I think fuel is closer to 6 lbs. per gal…why it floats.<br /><br />That’s only 1.35 million lbs. … not a problem. However, at $2/gal filling her up is going to cost more than the boat.

Here's a really cool boat (flashback to 1976 if you will):<br /><br />

<br /><br />That is a Berkley Avenger(?) jetboat up on a lake in the Adirondack Mts in New York (where my family had a summer cottage back in the 70's). The boat had a monster 427ci V8 engine in the back, all chrome accessories, etc... It was wild! That photo was taken July 4th, 1976. Yes, that is me skiing in the middle. See, originally, 8 of us "kids" back then got up on skis and did a waterski show around the main bay of the lake. 5 of them dropped off and me and the two others hung on for another go around.<br /><br />Ah, memories! <br /><br />Butch
