I don't buy a lot from ebay but have found it to be a good place to pick up some of that one step film.
My wife likes to use the one step cameras and am always looking for film and ebay seems to be the place to get it cheap.

Bought some 2 weeks ago from a person and he shipped them(4 packs) and after several days they had not got here although they were coming just 400 mile so I contacted seller and informed him of this in case they had got lost in the mail, and then a couple days later they came.

I notified him and left the feedback and then the next day he emailed me and let me know that he was concerned about it taking so long for them to get to me that he shipped me another set.

Now that's customer service for sure.

I know where I will be buying my one step film from now on. :)

There are some good sellers on ebay. Friend of mine sell dolls clothes and other toy stuff people bid silly money and if they pay to much against what its worth she always puts something else in so they dont feel cheated. Now has lots of repeat business. So clearly its good business.

I bought a pair of earrings for my wife for christmas and then realized it was from japan. figured oh well i'll never see then and the seller emailed me that it would be up to a month shipping. They arrived the same week. Also bought a cell phone clip for a penny and 4.99 shipping got it and first time i used it it broke before i left feedback i emailed the seller and told them they sent me another for no additional shipping. my wife and I have only been burned 2 times on ebay 1 selling no payment and she ordered a bowling bag and never got it or got a refund.

my middle name is "ebay" check me out, my user name is MYOUTBOARDS

go check me out, read my about me page and then buy my zhit !!!!! :p

i sold a sewing machine to a lady, and after it got there, she said it was injured during shipping, but she did not order insurance. so i am giving her a refund, which i think is pretty silly, cuase she says she wont give me back the machine till she gets her money, or she is gonna report me. i know i am not in the bad here, but i hate negative feedback. i have been doing tis for over almost a year now, and have sold thousands of dollars worth of stuff, mostly motor parts and such, but also my daughters artwork, old clothes, old shoes, music, movies, tools, house hold items, kitchen gadgets etc etc etc.

i have also used it to buy almost anything under the sun!

its fun stuff, and if you take the time and pay attention to what youre doing, your chances of getting BURNED are dramatically decreased.

myoutboards

mike

bye
Fleabay gets slammed by some members here. You usually only hear about the negative stuff and seldom the positve. I have only done fifty transactions some selling, mostly buying. Two of them major ones (my current boat for one). It's a good resource, especially for stuff not readily available... like your film. Great for finding parts for older marine engines too!

Well KG, it's not that I can't find the film locally, it's the cost.
I bought from this guy for 25 bucks what it would have cost be somewhere in the range of 40 to 50 bucks here at home.
The 25 bucks included shipping also, so yea, you can find good stuff on there from time to time.

It's just like anything else, you just got to watch your backside.

Re: Now that's customer service

My brother used my ebay account to buy some megablocks on ebay for my parents for the grandids for xmas.... they showed up, and were 2 different kinds that were incompatible, we felt they were misrepresented. I emailed the person and asked for HALF of the $ as a refund, not including shipping, we thought this was fair.
The seller refudned ALL of our $ including shipping. My parents would have nothing to do with that, and then refunded half of that back to the seller.

It's almost comical when you look at the paypal history, but there are honest sellers out there.

I've had lots of experiences on ebay where an item was misrepresented, so far, all of wich the seller has made good one.

I know this thread is about eBay, but also Customer Service. Let me tell you about this:

I worked as a Lead IT Admin for Nordstrom's in Seattle, and their policy is that the customer is always right, NO questions asked. This was never proven more true than when one of their old customers had gotten a set of tires from a family member as a present. The tires were not installed, and the old gent felt he didn't need the tires, so he took them back, to Nordstroms. They do not sell tires, as they are a high quality clothing store. The manager never even questioned the gentleman, and even looked up a price for the tires from a local tire store and refunded the price 100%, rather than argue and lose a long time regular customer.

Now...THAT is customer service.

Man I'm on a roll here. (Insert knocking on wood sound here) :)

I bought a corded speaker phone/CID and all and when it came in I noticed the bottom plate that you can move around for either wall mount or desk mount was missing, so I contacted seller and she said she had another phone just like it and would get the one off it and send it to me.

Well, I waited for 4 or 5 days and had not gotten it and then a email came that said she could not find it and had refunded my money back to paypal without any mention of returning the phone.

Said she apologized for the trouble and to have a Happy New Year, again, that's customer service.

WOW, SBN...what a record. I was telling some friends about this last night...one guy bought a steerign wheel set for his game system. The first one broke, then the second one broke. I told him to email the seller but I don't think he will. He is one of those who will just absorb the loss and not worry about it. No rockin the boat, ya know...

Re: Now that's customer service

One of my first sales on eBay I undercharged for shipping but figured it was a good learning experience, never mentioned it to the buyer. When they got the merchandise and saw how much I paid for shipping, they sent me extra money without being asked! :)

Another time I bought an expensive coin but lost track of it, three weeks later asked the seller and he said he was checking on it, then, when it was too late for me to recover through Pay Pal, he just flat out said go screw yourself. I was his first negative feedback in a line of other people he ripped off. Never recovered a dime. Lost $400. :(

I sold dome books on Ebay. Mailed two on the same day. One to Philadelphia and one to a place in Sweden. The guy in Sweden received his book first.

That particular incident is oft quoted in TQM Customer Service classes.
