I have a 2004 Nissan 40D2. I run in shallow water most of the time and need the motor to pop up freely when trying to get over logs at low speed. Can the tilt/trim be modified to allow the trim to still lift up but not hold down? If it can be modified is it something a shadetree mechanic like myself could do? Also does anyone know of an aftermarket trim switch that goes on the end of the tiller like the Yahama's have. Thanks

Not that I am aware of...You can ask Tohatsu by emailing them at info@tohatsu.com. But, I doubt that they will have an answer that you want to hear. The trim switch is doable. Just go to your local Yamaha dealer and by the switch and then modify your tiller for it.
