NY state 1950s boat registration numbers

Just wondering if anyone has a boat with the 2 digit NY state numbers
ex: NY XX AC.These come out of the computer now NY 00XX AC I bought 2 boats from a Family friend both had the early 2 digit numbers and were numbered consecutively.A 29 Dodge launch and a Crestliner.I thought it was kind of cool.I recently sold the Dodge after 27 years and have had the 57 Crestliner Buccaneer 18 for about 5 years.

We had a Lyman Islander with the 2-digit NYS number. Forget what it was, but the boat ended up chopped up as it was pretty well gone from the waterline down...

I have a feeling lots of boats with these numbers are gone.
