It seems to me like the sunnis and the shias are going at it tooth and nail, and you almost get the feeling that U.S. casualties are almost like collateral damage, almost as though the insurgents are trying not to do enough damage to really pi55 us off enough to come in and finish 'em off.
Anybody else get that feeling? It's not like I think they are so well organized as to be pursuing that as a strategy...just more like their civil war has priority over expelling the "invading force". You'd think having an "occupying army" on your soil would be a "uniter" not a "divider."
But what do I know, I'm just a civilian whose two main sources for news are NPR and iboats.
What I been wondering is, I keep hearing about the support that the enemy is getting from Iran, and it's more than just incidental (I believe what W says about this). How long has that been going on and what have we been doing to stop it? Maybe they've figured out that they can get away with anything long as they don't bomb Pearl Harbor? Or NYC?
And what's up with Pakistan and Afghanistan?
