Have a 24ft euro cuddy deep v small 2 man cuddy no ammenities etc; just a porta potie and tons of storage, I like the size of this boat easy to manuever good on gas easy to trailer etc; yes long crusing not desgined for but its plenty good for the stuff I do also perfect size for lakes so its a multipurpose boat was thinking about a bigger boat but I decided the needs meets the boat this boat is just way to practical.
any perspectives?

Not really sure what exactly you want to know? You said your boat is practical and meets your needs. Sounds like you are where you need to be. Did I miss something?

If you want to venture out onto blue water, then my personal opinion would be do it in nothing less than a 35 foot sedan bridge with twin diesels. And have an EPIRB!

It sounds like you have a nice boat.
Perhaps it's a question of how big can you get and still trailer and store it?

And your question is - - ??

Idiots have crossed the Atlantic in 8' sailboats.

First, we need to know where you're talking about. Your location says "redlands", you mean southern California?

Your current boat, "24ft euro cuddy deep v". What make and model is it? A 24' boat of the right type might be good enough for most times, if you keep your eye on the weather forecasts.

There are basically 2 kinds of boats that are OK for the ocean. A big deep V, high freeboard self-bailing boat (not a Bay Boat), or a Boston Whaler (which is really just a big surf board, that happens to be shaped kinda like a boat).

More details, please.

People get uncomfortable and seasick on Ocean liners so it's not a matter of size. It just depends on how uncomfortable you want to be when things to heck in a basket.
