ocean runner 115 fuel pump difference between 95 and 97...any one know?

they list a different fuel pump assy for the 95-96 models than they do for the 97 and later models. is this just an electrical difference, like a plug? I am looking for a kit to rebuild my fuel pump side of this assembly.. i think these pumps are the OMS style?? seems I have heard several names for the fiuel-oil pumps VRO, VRO2 and OMS, maybe even another name. Or is the inside of the pumps different ?

anyone know of a source for the rebuild kits?

Crowley Marine shows the same OMS pump in the '96 and '97 115HP Johnnys. Rebuild kits for the gasoline side only are avail at maxrules.com

The OMS pump (5007420) should be a 4 wire pump. is that what you have?

boats.net shows the 95 unit as fitting all the 90 and 115 hp ocean runner-ocean pro and intruder, and fastrikes for 95 and 96.

then they show the 97 unit as fitting all those engines up to 99!

I have a 97 ocean pro and a 95 ocean runner... i have run into electrical connection issues trying to use parts from the 97 engine on my 95 engine...

but I have just cut the plug and fitting the original plug( recitfier was one such part) the had the big red plug in 95 and they have pig tails on the 97...sooooo i was thinking it was all attributed to up grades in the wiring and electrical harness

Ill check my parts tonight...i actually have a 1996 115 ocean runner as well! to check on...
but its outside and its been raining for days here

both the 95 and the 97 pumps have 4 wires....

just checked..and its certainly time to rebuild those carbs..they are leaking a lot!!

thanks...since the boats.net site is very similar but easier to navigate, i went there...but the link for fuel pump repair kits isnt active.... go figure...so maybe ill try evinrude.com or just get it from master tech
