octane requirement 74 v-4 85hp

Hello all just wondering if I am wasting my money buying the 93 octane fuel for my old 74 johnson v-4 85hp? I live in the chicago area where 10% ethonal is used in all fuels. Was also wondering if I should maybe try some octane booster or some other additive any input would be appreciated. Thank's Chad Lester

87 octane is fine ... don't waste your money on any higher.

I have 1975 85hp and run 87 with seafoam every fillup.

use seafoam also the octane doesnt affect perfomance?

I have used 87, 89, and 91and see no difference.
