I am trying to determine who the actual manufacturer (OEM) is for my 2013 5HP Shakespeare outboard engine so I can find parts. CanadianTire sold these back then, but I suspect it may be Yamaha or similar. I found a 7.5” propeller that fits from Yamaha.

My 2013 5HP outboard (I think it’s Yamaha behind the Shakespeare name) works on first pull every time. BUT after it’s warmed up from 10 min run, and gets turned off it’s is almost impossible to restart until it cools for 30 minutes! The red mark label on the throttle indicates the correct position for restarting warm engine (approx 1/3 throttle). Has anyone else found a solution to this? Just had a mechanic replace plug and clean the carb. And gas line system.

Parsun marine I think makes them they are a sub par Chinese honda knock off. 4 stroke. If its shutting down when its hot it does that to keep you from overheating it. Is it peeing good water stream?

Thanks. Yes good stream now. The mechanic did notice it was blocked and blew air in a few times to clear it. Actually I stopped it 10 times with no problem, so maybe that cleared the stream from using it
