I?ve searched thru some threads on this subject, but am still undecided about what to do. My manifolds and risers are five years old. I have not yet pulled them apart, but am guessing it will be time to replace them. I boat exclusively in saltwater and they get flushed after each use.
I have twin 4.3 Volvos. My first problem is this, I can only use Volvo risers, part # 3862627. No aftermarket company makes a direct replacement to my knowledge. These risers are extra tall. This part is not so much of a problem. The problem is the manifolds, Volvo part # 3857656 are $ 408.33 each and I need four. This pushes the price of this project up to about $ 2700.00 with shipping and tax. I have found GLM manifolds for as low as $ 165.00 each. I would still have to use Volvo risers, but I would save about a grand on the manifolds.
Can I, should I, mix parts or am I going to have to Break Out Another Thousand. Thanks in advance.
