Happened to my father, after he and mom retired and moved to their house on the lake. Decided it was time for their first boat. (Note: Wife and I have been on the lake and boating for over 10 years at that time.) Picked up a nice new 24 foot Pontoon,. On his second or third outing he invites some good friends and their grandkids out for the day. Asks if the wife and I will come out tow the friends grandkids skiing and tubing. After several hour and a few adult beverages they decide to head in. Wife and I tell them we’ll see them back at their dock. We head back, about a 15 min. run at 35 MPH. We’re at the dock for a while and no pontoon. We head back to look for them and see what looks like their boat, except the top is folded back at a funny angle, and kind of parachuted out. Seems dad decided it would be fun to cross through pilings under the bridge. Enter a slight clearance issue, result a remodeled bimini top and years of teasing from all involved. Everyone on board was OK except for dad who suffered a bruised ego.

L-T

My fishing buddy gets mad at me for telling people about our screw ups. My self, I wear them with pride!
I have to quote an old carpenter I worked with.

"It's real easy to not make mistakes, all you have to do is nothing. The rest of us who actually do something will just keep on making them."
