off trailer temporary storage

I need to take my boat, 19' off the trailer to replace the rollers. For me, not a one day project. No close water to offload into. Boat dealer I knew would offload boats onto used tires on the ground to swap trailers or to work on the trailer. Anyone have a better idea? I'm open to suggestions.

Why are you wanting to get the boat off the trailer? You absolutely don't need to get the boat off to replace rollers... Jack the trailer up a little, block the stern and bow of the boat, and then lower the trailer. Remove tires if you need additional room. The boat won't be touching the trailer at any point, and you can swap out rollers all day long. (I've replaced many bunks on trailers using exactly this method.)

You can build these with some 2x4's, 4x4's, and 2x6's. Some more simple ones could probably be made with just 2x4's.

Ayuh,.... I've done in onto junk truck tires before,...
It can get Tight on the lower unit of the drive...
A combination of blockin', 'n tires is Better...

I agree, though,... for just fixin' a wagon, jack up the boat, 'n do what ya gotta do...

I've always dumped mine straight onto the lawn so they can't fall down any further.

I hear of people doing this... but never have seen it. Well maybe a john boat, but not a 18'+ bowrider. You got any pics of your boat right on the front lawn?

I dumped my 20' cuddy on the grass a few times and my 26' flybridge cruiser twice... I did lay two tires in the rear of the cruiser to keep it level and one with a rim and a 2x6 crosswise on top of it near the front under the keel.

So once the boats are off the trailer and chillin' on the lawn, how to get them back on the trailer when the time comes? Preferably without damaging the boat...

back the trailer up to it... connect strap and start cranking.... you CAN unhook the trailer from the tow vehicle and let the front go up or leave it connected... If it's a bunk trailer, you CAN lube the bunks with silicone, water, soap, and or your favorite water based lube, or you can leave em dry... guess which way in easier on the arms.

with a roller trailer it's darn near easy.

I've got no pics either Stingray but I can tell you after you've done it you will wonder what all the fuss was about.
I do the same as smokeonthewater with a spare on either side at the back to keep it level, I think I could let it lay over on one side but I was doing some work in the boat as well as the trailer & didn't want to be working on a slope.
My biggest so far was a 21' half cabin boat, I used to do my old sharkcat (twin hull) jerking it off to the tipping point by reversing, hitting the brakes and limiting the travel with the winch cable.
The ideal thing would be to tie the boat to a tree and drive out from under it but I didn't have a tree.
2 people can push my current 17' cuddy off by hand, well half off then I drive out.

Which gives more support like being in the water ??

Especially if the job gets BIG delays.

Soapy water on boards.
Back the trailer bunks up to the hull. Raise the front of the trailer somehow and crank away CAREFULLY. I had 2 friends helping. As we got close to the SEE SAW balance point, we eased the trailer down to the car hitch.
Best way we did it was boat on grass. 19' boat.

you may not have a tree but i bet you have an anchor!

Working on a trailer under a home-made blocking set-up is the makings of a disaster. Just ask Stubbie over there....

When I was about 15 my dad had me paint the bottom of our 16' starcraft, so I got my older cousin from next door and a couple of his friends to help me dump it in the yard. Roller trailer w/ shotr bunks. We pushed and pushed and finally it came aloose--when the 1/4" ropes on the stern (tie-downs) popped! Those boys were not kind to me, in their comments of helpful instruction.
