Spent a lot of time and money getting my little 17ft Anacapri cc back to new condition, and just recently was able to get offshore for the first time. Picked up some dolphin on the first trip (and lost a nice cobia at the boat). Second trip out, same week, my buddy got this 47lb wahoo. We thought it was pretty cool to drag this big of a fish on the little boat!

Waytogo, Mpsyamaha. :)

I used to take my BW 17' offshore from Ft. Lauderdale. Didn't think I would take any other boat that size out there. Glad to see that the Anacapri is up to it, too.

Nice work, Mpsyamaha
I take my 18' Alumaweld (has the offshore bracket so it's really 20' of keel) offshore halibut fishing (washington) but it's darn weather dependent and even when it's nice, I keep a very close eye on the wind/weather 'cause it can change in 30 minutes. Safe to say to don't run out with the tuna guys, besides I only have 38 gallons of gas which is probably a good thing or I might be tempted to go farther.
If money was no object, I'd already own a 26-28 footer with twin outboards but that just ain't happening without a lucky lottery number.

Thanks guys.

Yeah Im with you, if I won the lottery a nice 30ish ft center console with twin outboards would be among the first purchases. Although I would definitely keep this Anacapri, I just love this little boat.

It works good for you on that coast. On the West coast it would not work so well. But I guess there are always trade offs.

I live on the East Coast of Florida, and I regularly took out my 17 Whaler offshore 22-25 miles on a good day. Up here, the Gulfstream is so far offshore that a 20 mile trip is required to hit 100 ft of water. I now have a 17ft McKee Craft, and the first good day we get I am heading back out with my old GPS numbers.
