OH Carp!!!! Spring is COMING!!

Far be it for me to panic or get excited but in my area ( VA) I have about four weeks before the Bass start biting good, the crappie will be around the same time, the cats in the James River will be around, and soon the ladies will be in Bikinis.
Good thing I am an old man that has nothing to prove and is just happy being on the water.
(Did ya believe that one?)

Get to work guys & gals. It is creeping up on us fast. Dang that groundhog just had to predict an early spring.

Don't forget your brothers & sisters, we gotta see pics and splash videos. That is our inspiration.

It went from below zero here to mid forties inside of two weeks. The snow tunnel (my driveway) has gone from waist high to knee high in less than a week. I'm liking this. I've started poking around the boat. I love that little groundhog. I hope it stays although I doubt it.

Let's start getting the Starcrafts cleaned up.

Hey y'all! I've been missing the Starmada lately. I wanted to get back tonight to catch myself up on Jason's Islander thread.

It's gonna hit FIFTY DEGREES here tomorrow. I've cleverly scheduled my work day to be in the car with my dog all day, stop #1 on the agenda is a visit to the old Islander. I'm gettin' seriously stoked to get back into this project....

I am going to optimistically say that we appear to be done with snow here. Just checked the forecast and we're going to have 2 freakishly warm days but then back to mid 40's for the next week. We really lucked out snow wise this winter. We had like 2-3 weeks of yucky snowy icy weather but that was really it all winter. Can't really complain much about that. I fully intend to make the most of this year. The boat is coming out of storage early for some major improvements. My dad's little boat is going to hit the water early for fishing or just putting around. I also plan to do a lot of camping with my 3.5 year old.

Well I for one wish the cold weather could hang around for a bit longer.

I've got an ice-fishing trip planned starting tomorrow, taking a long weekend to head straight north and try to catch some big northern pike

Since I have good storage for the winter I wouldn't mind getting some more snow next week

I might go Steelhead fishing this Saturday! No more snow please. Lake St. Clair still has enough ice to walk on but it's going fast. Good luck on the northerns, get the smoker ready.
