Now I’m all set, pic of my Avon and a pic of the Shorelander Tadpole trailer I picked up today.
It was a pain hauling the RIB in my SUV, get to the lake, get it out of the bag, inflate it, set it on the water, haul the Merc 9.9 over to it and get it mounted. By that time I was dripping wet !!!
Now, I’ll get it all set up at home, get to the lake, pull the motor out of the trunk of my car, mount it, and launch. Lake launch will take 10 minutes max instead of 30 - 40.
And, my car gets 30 mpg, my SUV I was hauling it in got 13 mpg.

Congrats to you! Is it not recommended to trailer with the motor mounted? I assume you're using clamps instead of bolts, so I answered my own question, didn't I?

Re: Oh happy day !!!

My RIB has a folding transom, so you can't transport with the motor on it, even with bolts, which I don't use. My Avon Rover 310 Lite folds neatly into a bag when not in use and is stored in my garage. Merc. is kept upright on an engine stand. I just got all this, so I'm still learning. I would LOVE to be able to haul it to the lake with the Merc on it already.
I have a feeling I'm going to end up with a bigger RIB very soon, like about 14 - 16 footer. I want a steering wheel and to face forwards, But I'll tell ya, for what it is, this Avon is a blast, can go anywhere and sips fuel. Compared to my 22' Stingray with big 300hp V-8, every rib sips fuel, well, any RIB that I can afford. I want 90 - 125 hp on my next RIB.

They are fun. I've got an old "Seaworthy" 8 footer with only a 2hp motor and even that can be a blast. Someone decided to permanently borrow my 8hp Yamaha....sigh....

Theteacher, if interested could recommend a US Company that are importing nice ribs from Asia, are very well made, lightweigh and affordable. You can buy them open or with center consoles. Someting like this, available in 420, 440, 470, 520 mt.

I'm building a personalized open 440 for me, actually 10 cm longer than size number. Any of those with minimum 60 HP can fly you to the moon. Have in use a 520 with 60 HP 2 strokes Yam and speed with 2 passengers is very scarry at 3/4 throttle.

Happy Boating

I have to sell my hard boat first, and it's sure not selling season here in the states !!! Plus, I always buy everything used and save ALOT of $$$ that way. And lose less $$$ when I go to sell it.
But thanks for the offer, I appreciate it !!!
