I gotta say, there are a whole lot more critters roaming around south Florida than when I was a kid (70's). Nowadays when I go back to visit, there are crested iguanas everywhere (I had only previously seen them in the Caribbean). I hear they come in on the produce shipments from south america. I have most recently hooked into a Pacu (Large amazon river fish) in one of the canals as well as a lot of peacock bass.
Most recently my dad (who works at the airport) was telling me about a shipment of live minks that got out of a shipping crate. According to him there was over 100 in the shipment, and they only recovered 3. I am thinking that there will soon be a new population of minks around the airport area unless the escaped population of pythons eat them all!
