Even if you lost a gagillion dollar lawsuit... you wouldn't necessarily be broke the rest of your life... it's called... "Judge, I can afford to pay about $20 per month..."

Just because they win a suit against you, doesn't mean they get to collect all at once... especially if you have an even slightly sympathetic judge.

Very true. I have a bud going through this. About 7 years ago, a couple kids jumped over his fence wheil they were at work. Broke into his garage, stole his beer and got drunk while simming. One of the kids broke his neck being stupid. He now pays $75 a month toward the suite he lost, on top of the rider policy he had. The plaintif won a 1.5MM suite and insurance paid out 1.1MM. He also has 80K in attorney fees. The problem is, he has this big "JUGEMENT" across his credit report and every time he tries to get credit, it is a big fat negative. He has witten and explination to all the agencies, but it still is a negative.
