I have a 1988 Johnson 70hp VRO on my new to me Whaler. The oil alarm is under the console and one of the wires was unplugged. I plugged it back in and now the alarm buzzes non-stop when the key is turned on. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

Re: Oil Alarm question

Your buzzer may be bad. Constant alarm is the overheat signal. Check the tan wire coming out of your head for any contact with the engine. Also, unplug the tan wire from the heat senson in the head. If the alarm stops then the sensor itself is bad.
