I disconnected my vro system on my 1998 175 evinrudes right out of the box, they have been running great (92 hours) one local omc mechanic advised me that the new detergents in todays gas makes it difficult for the oil and gas to stay mixed, even after trailering the boat and that I should connect the oil system. Anyone know about this? Thanks<br />Ps...I disconnected my vro systems cause I lost my last power head do to water in the oil tank, the vro wasnt the failure,I just feel more comfortable mixing myself and not having to check and service all the components involved, unless ofcourse there is truth to this new gas not mixing well. thanks again
