Oil and water coming from behind the anode

Took the boat out this afternoon. Propped the motor up ('86 Evinrude 40hp) with the transom saver after the run. When I got home I noticed a lot of exhaust oil and some water coming out from under the anode. Took the anode off and found what looks like a drain hole.

This was the second time it's been out since putting a water pump on the lower unit. First time out I did not notice anything coming out of the hole. Today there is a lot.

I'm not sure which anode your talking about?
Gas,oil coming out can be from over rich condition?
Look for flooding carb,make sure your choke
is turned off?
None of the above check for weak spark,
how old are the spark plugs?
Old gas or after market oil, not burning clean.

Big flop, it's the anode that is attached to the lower, front part of the midsection just above the lower unit. I did just rebuild the carbs but it didn't leak the first time out after the rebuild. I am having a little troble with idling, sometimes it idles good and other times not so good. Also, doesn't want to start right up after it dies.

New spark plugs last week and a mechanic said the spark is strong.

New gas with walmart oil.

Taking the boat on a trip in 2 weeks......you think this is something to be concerned with?

Could be intermittant spark causing it to missfire on 1 cylinder and the unburnt oil to run down and out the leg.

Throw a timing light on it an watch it for a miss.
