Those oil suckers like this one:
are a real pain when you use the small rigid vinyl hose in the dipstick tube. The hose is so small that it takes quite a while to suck the oil out thru the tiny tube...
but if you connect it to the drain hose in the pan, It will suck out the oil in about 1.5 min..... hot or cold...... you don't spill a drop.
I used a clamp to permanently hold the end of my drain hose to the port side riser. I just remove the cap on the hose and connect the vacuum pump. 15 strokes or so and 1-2 min and the pan is empty.
I then pour the oil directly from the pump to my favorite container (my waste oil furnace!!).......the cycle is complete!
