Oil Changer - Dipstick Tube Attachment - Where to find a replacement

I've got this oil changer in the link below. I realized today that the black crushed up plastic under the boat in the driveway is the threaded piece that you attach to the dipstick tube, that goes into the hose to the pump. I'm headed to the lake Friday to and really need that thing to change the oil in the big boat. What part is it called? The probe, the nipple??? Can i get something at lowes? I need to overnight from somewhere if I can't get something at lowes but can't find exactly what it is anywhere....help please!

I guess my real question is, is the thread pattern the same as a garden hose?

Only one way to find out. Try screwing the garden hose to the pump. If it fits you might try a garden supply house near you or a hardware store for a replacement piece. If they don't have one try a plumbing supply house.

It's the threads on the dipstick tube itself. I was trying to avoid uncovering the boat in the driveway to find out. Just hoping someone knows. The boat I need to change the oil in is 3 hours away.

Didn't understand the question at first. What is the engine? It is most likely that the threads on the dipstick will fit a hose thread. I can't imagine they're pipe threads. Keep in mind though you will need a special type of hose like the one that came with the kit to withstand both the suction and the heat from the oil. A regular garden hose would just implode on itself.

There are threads on my 4.3L Merc are 2-3 inches down from the end of the tube.
They are standard garden hose threads.

Plastic repair replacements can be found in most any garden department for under $2.

1/2, 5/8 and 3/4 inch are standard sizes.
If your hose is small, place the end of the hose in boiling water for 30 seconds to soften it up and then quickly push it over the fitting.

Alternately, adapt the hose down so it is a snug fit over the actual dip stick tube and forgo the threaded part altogether.

Thanks for the feedback. It's a Volvo Penta 7.4. I picked up a brass garden hose adapter with a barbed end for $4 at lowes. I still have the original hose that came with the pump and the "probe tube" as well. If the garden hose adapter doesn't work I'll just put the probe down there and be patient.

I dont like using the adapter like that,the(cup) that it attaches to holds oil that just is hard to clean out,and if left runs outside the tube while underway. I just adapt a hose to the tube itself and pump away!
