I just did a Google on Fumoto and I came up with Fumoto Nipple Type Oil Drain Valve 'F-106N' on Amazon for $25. It includes the nipple to add a hose. My question is:

Are all oil pan plugs the same size and threading?

I'd hate like hell to strip the threading on the oil pan$.

I had a discount code at one time, could likely Google for one.

What engine do you have? You could cross-match to a Auto engine, or send them an email. You want the "N" Nipple series valve for boats. I kept the Fumoto when I sold my Sea-Ray with 87 3.0L. It took the "F101" valve.

I used clear vinyl tubing from and hardware store. These valves are of extremely high quality, and I highly recommend them.

I use a small electric fuel pump i bought from nothern auto parts for 20 bucks it works great i use 1/4 in fule hose with the white plastic tubing from a refrigerator ice maker it works great warm or cold...

The motor is a 1995 4.3L 190hp. The drain plug is on the port side of the oil pan at an angle. it's close to the oil filter. I really don't think I can get to the transom plug from inside the boat. I could be wrong though. I'll check over the weekend. My thoughts are to run a hose forward, to something and get creative.

Well I've been waiting to write this review all week. Monday night I exchanged to JABSCO Flat Tank Oil Changer for The attached Manual Oil Changer at West Marine. On Tuesday I did a dry run. I had a 64 oz bottle of outdrive oil. That's 90 SAE and it was outside at 60F. In 5 pumps the bottle was empty. We're talking seconds. I couldn't believe it. Still a little skeptical, my name is Thomas and I don't believe nothing until I see it. Today, I warmed the boat up for 15 min, just in case, attached the pump to the dip stick and 25 pumps later it was done. I gave it an extra 10-15 pumps to suck all the drips out of the hose. From the time I connected the hose to the time I disconnect it was under 10 min. What a dream. I had so much fun I may do the lawnmower and snow thrower Sunday just for laughs.

The vaccum pumps work best if you use the garden hose fitting on the dipstick tube, the little tube down the dipstick does work but it's slower. First if your engine will not warm up on the water hose after 15-30 min running your thermo is probably not closing all the way and the engine will never warm up. Replace the thermostat. This is such a common problem in raw water cooled engines in salt that I buy a new thermostat before I winterize because I've had this problem before...

I use the blue metal Topsider, its worked a lot better since I fabbed up a garden hose adapter for it.

I use this thing for all kinds of jobs, sucks the auto trans fluid out of my Jeep's Torqueflite so I don't make a mess taking the pan off, same thing with the diffs...
Also use it on all my 4 stroke yard engines....

I had the same problem this year. I bought a "Sterns" electric pump from Wally World about 10 years ago. It's all I've ever used. This year, new boat, and it took 3 hours to get 3 quarts out of a warm engine. According to the engine specs, it holds almost 9.

I went online and checked out the reviews for pumps. I purchased the same manual "West Marine" pump as stated before. I wasn't able to warm the engine because it was 3 quarts low, and the oil filter was already removed, and it only took about 20 minutes to empty the oil pan.

I bought the larger of the two pumps. Worth the $70. I drained the oil into gallon jugs, and let the unit drain on its side overnight. It's back in the box, and ready for next year clean and empty!

The only thing I didn't like about using the garden hose fitting is that I was left with a puddle of oil around the tube caught in the fitting. When I replaced the dipstick, it gushed out and made a mess. I tried sopping it up with a paper towel, but I still didn't get it all. I was thinking about a rubber spacer or something for next year. I'll probably just use the large tube provided with the pump. I ran it through the dipstick tube to see if I could get any more oil out, but it just slurped (telling me it was empty).

I'm not sure that will work for me. The dipstick on mine is square, and goes all the way down in the hole. I would say that it fills 90% of the void with molded plastic.

Are those "West Marine" brand pumps? Or, are the Moeller or PELA? I'm in the market for one and if these seem to work then I'm making a road trip very soon! Thanks in advance for the help.
