Oil Coming From Johnson 8HP Lower Unit?

I just traded a generator for a Johnson 8HP Outboard. I am new to outboards. The gentleman I traded with had taken off the lower unit to inspect the impellar and refilled with oil. The pump is spitting out water and working fine and it started fine. He said to replace the impellar anyway. Is that necessary? Also, I noticed that when I put it away later that day that there was oil coming from what looks like 2 relief points where the lower unit connects to the body of the motor. Is this normal after use?

Does the oil smell like gas? If so its probably just unburned premix.

Impellers should be changed once a year or so... some people use them longer.

I think everyone is required to ask this question (about "oil leaking from their lower unit") when they first get an outboard, I know did.

Ok thanks for the response, I have a new impellar for it, Will I need to change all the gaskets for the pump when changing out an impellar?

If it's working fine now , run it. And when you do replace it, replace all gaskets and use sealer on them.
