Oil coming from Prop shaft?????

I noticed an unusual amount of grease or oil inside the prop area of my 2002 Johnson 90 Hp , I don't know if this is supposed to be like this. Don't know if this helps but I recently changed the lower gear oil and ran the motor on muffs and then the motor was left outside and the weather got below freezing, could something have frozen and broke causing this oil?

Very likely just unburnt oil from the fuel unless it is obviously gear oil but read this item from the Engine FAQs board

If the gear case oil was new and free of water and water was allowed to drain completely from the exhaust housing there should be no risk from freezing
