I recently took the boat out of the lake for winter. When I pulled the dip stick out to check the oil, engine oil started coming out the dip stick tube. It is a 2012 and I haven't had any problems up to this point.a little confused.

Yes, it could be gas. I forgot about that.
It's possible with some models if the fuel pump leaks they can dump fuel into the crankcase.
There might be other sources as well.
See if the oil smells like fuel.
Four strokes "can" also have an issue with "making oil" due to prolonged slow speed operation, over cooling, and over-propping. The issue is that excess unburned fuel ends up in the crankcase -- hence the term "making oil." Four stroke owners needs to check the oil level regularly. A rise in oil level signifies an issue.
