Oil contamination???

I recently changed the oil on my boat but overfilled it slightly, so the other day I started to drain some oil through the dipstick via a pump, but the pump had some contamination of sea water in it because I used it on a previous job. I have now found out that the crap in the pump (oily water) has entered the engine oil because when i check the oil, the dipstick is cloudy. Should I drain and fill again? or leave as is? or maybe add an additve to help?

Drain and refill. You don't want to run it with any water contamination in the oil. Change the filter, too....

I'm with Rick,...... Why take the Chance...... Oil's Cheap compared to Motors.....

I can't see how contamination could get from the pump to the oil pan,.....

Are you Sure the motor Doesn't have it's Own Issues,..????......

I'd bet he has one of those electric pumps that can pump both ways. If you hit the switch the wrong way it will pump whats in the bucket back into the engine. Don't ask how I know this :D

Ok, Don I won't ask! But I think I've got a pretty good guess! :p

I am with the "change the oil" crowd. Hopefully that's what you are doing right now.
