Do the math on this expansion thing. The temperature change is not large enough nor is there enough air space to create enough of a pressure drop to suck water through a good seal by a long shot.

This seems to be a good debate. I like the benefits of an oil bath system, there are lots of good valid points. I'd prefer the greased ones, this way if the seal breaks or the bearing buddy gets knocked off I can still make it home to repair. Yes you should still pull the wheels off every season and clean out any possible water or grit. If you have a problem with the oil bath, you're either stuck there or need to bring repair parts with.
