My oil cap in valve cover has what appears to be filter material in it...it drips some oil ...not much but I did notice it...should that cap have a vent hose to flame arrester or shoukd I just clean it or replace it

its probably a breather cap. do you have a nipple for running a hose to the spark arrester?

I could plumb one into the bottom of the spark arrested if needed...I can't get a thicker one due to clearance from the floor

Post a pic

If you have a nipple, run a hose

Standard breather cap without nipple

Option ,#1, get cap with nipple and plumb to spark arrestor

Option #2, clean the steel wool in the cap every 50 hours. Add extra course steel wool as needed
