oil / gas leaking ?

I have a 2000 150 Johnson on my bass boat. Yesterday I noticed oil all over my vro I clipped the end off the hose and re clamped it. Clean everything up and pressure tested it all good. My boat ran like a champ all day fishing. When loading it started stalling out on me. It took awhile to load cause stalling was happening a lot. I pulled the cover and had gas/oil mix all over the carbs and all the carbs are wet ( probably from stalling) At this point it looks like a carb is leaking but I have to look at it closer today. My question is this how big of job is it to pull the carbs off clean and re-build them and get all 6 balanced again. Sounds expensive to take to a shop so I might try it myself. I have rebuild carbs on cars so I can probably do it. The scary part is getting 6 carbs set right.

Looking closer it looks like the port side carbs are leaking externally. I will need to put kits in these and all floats are leaking. Guess I better hit the books and get to work.

had you had the motor tilted all the way up. if so the carbs are out of level, and the float needle will leak, causing the carbs to run over.

I had it fairly level when loading it at the lake and it would stall as soon as I put it in gear to load it. When I finally got it loaded. I pulled the top engine cover and everything was covered with fuel mix. I don't really know if that was the cause of the problem or the effect of the problem. Strange that the boat ran good all day then this.

remove the air silencer, start the motor on muffs, then look for a fuel leak, check all hoses and joints.

I did all that no external leaks found. Could a timing issue cause this ?

I had something similar happen to me. Could not isolate the problem with the motor running. My problem turned out to be a leaking needle valve.

Pump up the primer bulb and squeeze it as hard as you can. See fuel leaking anywhere?

I did that and did not notice anything. Then I trimed up a bit just to the point that I would be at if running across a lake on pad. I did notice gas dripping out of the carbs it was even out of all 6 so I was assuming this was normal ?
