Two issues:
1-It's snowing like hell and it's October

2- I was winterizing my Mercruiser Alpha One 3.0 and while running on the muffs, I was getting a lot of black smoke and the water coming out of the prop area had oil in it. Any idea what may be going on with #2? I'm guessing it is something not good.
Thanks,
Ron

Ayuh,... My guess is the choke was stuck, causin' an overly Rich condition...

I'll check the choke, thanks. Even if it was running rich, how would oil get down there? I could see if it was a 2 stroke where oil is mixed with the gas. I'm guessing it's either crankcase oil or outdrive oil but either one shouldn't be coming out with the exhaust water from the prop.

Most common leak is shift shaft seal, easily replacable.

You can check for leaks with a leakdown test.

Or oil is coming from tired engine.

Hopefully just the seal. I'm going to pull the outdrive and check it all out. Thanks for the help!
