I want to use external fuel tank,( vs. engine is now pulling fuel from built in tank). Engine has a small oil reservoir atop engine. I also have a couple gallon oil tank in the hull (1994 Bayliner Trophy walkaround). Questions are: #1 Using external 6 gallon fuel tank, do I need to add 50:1 mix? (I think not but just checking). #2 What is the brass hose coupler in the pic below the oil reservoir? Line comes from hull oil reservoir. and terminates on top of engine oil reservoir. Is it a vent? It has always been like this (without line coming out the bottom). Is this normal? Engine has an fuel line connector in front but I've always used the direct, built in tank. Old gas in built-in makes me not want to use it til it gets cleaned out. #3. Should I change all fuel & oil hoses to accommodate this methanol gas we use now? Hoses have not been changed since, probably, 2006. Thanks, in advance, for all replies. DG

No... but 6 gallons wont last long.

Sort of ..Its actually a 2 psi check valve... and that pic is normal.

I would and get rid of the automotive fuel filter and install correct one
