oil injection

[Smothers Variety]

115 hp 4 cyl will only run on one cyl. New plugs, seems to be spark at all 4 plugs. was told oil injection problem. cleand oil orifice unit oil tank and lines. Still won't run on only one cyl. Any sugestions. David<br /><br />1991 suzzuki 115 HP

You have a duplicate post on this. What make and year engine is this? Some engines will initiate a rev limiter when the oil flow or pressure drops. I think if you are running on 1 cylinder you have ignition issues or carb/fuel issues. You say you have spark on 4 cylinders, so I would start looking at your carbs. Remove the airbox and squirt some premix into the carb throats 1 at a time and see if it picks up. Post the results. Do a compression test and post the results.<br /><br />Be patient on this forum its not a chat room.

If the oil injection breaks, the engine can get messed up, and it might make is run like one cylinder if you can get it restarted.<br /><br />You might want to check the engine with compression tester to check the pistons and stuff first.<br /><br />If the motor is a late model computer controlled it could restrict it's own power (run on less than all cylinders?) till the problem the computer saw, was corrected, and cleared from memory.
