I have a 1981 bf75s 7.5 outboard motor. Motor cranks and runs great. The only problem I noticed was down where the oil drain screw is there are little holes that run around the right around the same level as the screw. I noticed today that there was oil running out of the small holes. i just changed the oil so the oil coming out was old dirty oil and clean oil. I have the service cd and I cant find these holes. I dont know why there would be oil coming out here. When I was filling the oil I did spill a little unfortunately. I hope this is what it is. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You probably got some spilled oil coming through the housing. I believe that those are water drains so the motor won't freeze/break in winter storage.

I surely hope so, and kinda thought that might be the case. I had an issue with the tell tale, and after reading this forum I took the hose off and sure enough there was a mud dober nest in it. The hose is small, and broke. so I cranked it and let it run to ensure the thermostat worked, and that the water actually ejected. All was well and then I notived old oil and new oil draining out. I know i spilt oil when filling, and thought maybe the water was pushing it out when I ran without the hose. Thanks again friend!
