Oil leak

So I thought I had my engine fixed finally after numerous problems..so we took her to the river on a perfect day for fishing, got the boat in the water, tried to start her up, she wouldnt fire, checked the batts, spark, fuel tanks, all good, but she just wouldnt catch, so im pulling the boat out and notice a large oil leak from my lower unit, but a busted seal wouldnt effect starting the engine, would it?

Did you use the fast idle?How about the choke?Jerry

My guess is you flooded the engine. That would explain the oil slime you have. If oil smells like gas and not lower unit oil its flooded.

That was my first thought, I let her sit, then tried again, nothing, tried at home later that day, still wouldnt fire
