1998 90hp M# J90TSLEUA Noninjected Noticed oil leaking from under the plastic cover that goes over the outer exhaust housing.
Looks like it's coming from either the outer exhaust housing/adaptor or the engine block/adaptor, really hard to see. The oil looks/
smells like spent exhaust....... If I have to take this apart I will need OMC Gel-Seal 2. What is a suitable substitute for this?

Also noticed the other day for the first time the same oil dripping done the lower unit skeg. I change my lower unit oil regularly.
I believe that is spent exhaust oil. Why would this be here because I've never seen it before. Could this be a oil recirculation
Issue.

Thanks,
Roach

Re: OIl leaks

Boobie,
The oil leak was the adaptor to outer exhaust housing. That being said I had to disassemble just about everything.
Took me a few days working on it during the evening after work. .....The toughest part was hooking the shift rod
back up........But next time it will be easier. Experience is the best teacher and not being in a hurry makes it easier.
I would again like to thank all of you for your help!!!
