Thanks to all that has help me! I am now looking for the right oil mixture. Motor is a 1959 V50 super seahorse.

1.) On the motor it says 1 quart to 6 u.s. gallons or 5 imperial gallons. Is this right and what is this ratio - 50:1?

Thanks in advance

I love the water.

That's 24: 1

(128 ounces X 6)/32 ounces = 24

Re: Oil Mixture 1959 Johnson V50 Outboard

24 :1 is the correct mix and that is 2 US pints (1 US quart) in a 6 US gallons

But if using UK (Imperial) measurements it would be 2 UK pints ( 1 UK quart) in 6 UK gallon because there are 8 UK pints to UK gallon just like there are 8 US pints in a US gallon.

( 1 US quart in 5 UK gallon perhaps but you would not measure the oil in the USA and the gasoline in the UK)
