Engine was running rough, had a bad pencil coil on lower port cyl., went ahed bought a new one, changed all the plugs, engine runs fine, was concerned about plugs because mechanic said make sure to put grease on plugs..so took the out, and found oil on the new pencil coil, the old bad coil had no oil, none of the other coils had oil, but this one does, put everything back together, runs like a clock..called mech..he says there are o-rings at the end of the tube cyl the coil slides into, says its no big deal unless i have to start replcing the coil rapidly because of possible short, anyone ever hear of anything close to this? I am clueless in florida

the engine is a 2003, 225 honda 4 stroke....it is the lower coil on the port side, the one you have to remove the cowling in order to get space enough to slide the coil out, the man who replaced the coil originally tried to remove it without doing that, and i am wondering if maybe he damaged something inside the tube, there is no oil on the inside of the pencil coil and none on the plug itself, so i think that is good news, i really dont like oil in a place it should not be..and help is certainly appreciated, regards, bill
