I am assembling my engine and ran into a question on the correct pan gaskets. This is the one piece gasket and one piece rear main seal engine. The description of the oil pan gasket for marine says it is heavy duty and thicker than the standard truck gasket. Not sure why it would be thicker but I think it is in the area of the front and rear curved sealing surfaces. I bought a new oil pan that is supposed to be a marine oil pan. So, do I need the thicker gasket for the marine oil pan? If so, does the thicker gasket need slightly longer oil pan bolts?
Thanks....
