Simple question... how does one match an oil pressure sender to the gauge? Mine started to leak, so I replaced it with what was supposedly the right one (according to NAPA). Now I read 60 psi with the engine off and 85 at idle. It's off the scale at speed. It's ok for now, since I know I have pressure but I'd sure like to have the right one.

Oh, and yes, the gauge worked fine with the old sender. It's a 305GM w/an OMC Stringer. Not sure of the gauge manufacturer.

Thanks!

are all oil pressure senders universal for all mercruiser engines, because the one that its telling me to use does not look like the one i took off my engine, its a 1994 can these new ones just be different
