I replaced the oil pump on my 1999 F80. I had the lower unit off when I did it. Now I can't get the lower unit drive shaft to go back together with the new oil pump shaft as I'm trying to reinstall my lower unit. I'm turning the drive shaft and can feel the splines contact but the shafts wont slide together. I did not think to verify the spline engagement with the oil pump and the lower unit drive shaft before installing the new oil pump and re-mounting the power head.
The original oil pump part number was 10-67F-13300-00-00, the replacement part that I was sent is 67F-13300-10-00. I don't imagine that anyone can tell me whether or not there is disparity with the alignment of the drive shaft between these parts...... could they?
I don't want to pull the power head again just to see that they go together fine and have to replace the pan gasket again.
