Hey Gang-
I just aquired a samll black merc 2.2 hp. All self contained w/ the gas tank and all. I just want to know what mix I should run. I havn't looked at it much (or I'd have a little more info), but I want to try and start it today. I don't have a computer where I will work on it. I will run 50:1 unless somebody has a better opinion. Thanks in advance.

I agree, thats what the '58 Evinrude 10hp uses. Although I have a heard a few people mention 25:1 and even 10:1, although that was speaking about a 1950's 5 hp merc. No misquitos on the lake tonight!

Just make sure that the oil you use is rated TCW-3 or higher... The old Seagull engines used 10:1, but that was normal 4 stroke engine oil!!! DON'T use that in more modern outboards...

My old 'Rude manual says 50:1 using 30 weight engine oil. My how times have changed!
