oil tank hook up.. 1999 200hp carbed merc

On the remote oil tank there are 2 hoses.1 is a little higher on the cap then the other one. Does it matter which hose goes to the T off the oil tank on the motor and the nipple going to the block? If so which goes where?

One of the two hoses should have a blue tracer painted on it. This is the oil line which should get connected to the tee fitting on the motor, and the other end should connect to the barb on the tank marked "oil".
