oil trail??

I have a 1992 9.9 4 stroke Honda that runs great, I recently noticed the oil level was a bit low so I added some. Shortly after I ran it to troll for approx 1/2 hr and noticed it leaves a heavy trail of oil in the water that seems to be spitting out the back above water line and below cover. I am assuming I added too much :facepalm: and it is self purging. I am planning to take some out. Hopefully that will fix the leaking/spiting.

Anything else I should do or be worried about?
