Oildyne Mercruiser tilt trim motor fluid recommendations
I have a 1988 4.3 with pre alpha outdrive. I have an Oildyne tilt trim motor(SAE J171 MARINE). What is the best fluid for this unit. I have replaced the fluid in the past using mercruiser clear hydraulic oil. The oil is now pinkish.(water in oil ?) I want to remove the pump and clean it up and flush the lines. What is a good replacement fluid? I have read in the forums of boaters using Ford type F tranny fluid, Motor oil non detergent and hydraulic fluid. What are your opinions?
