oill pump

Hello all Ive got a older Yamaha 50 etlj with the auto oiler and I just rebuilt the power head. I put clear lines on the oil pump to make sure it was good and no oil is getting pumped good thing I had oil in fuel' So Im wondering what makes it stop working? I bled it at least I thought I did and still no oil pumping. I also considered just tossing the whole oil system and just adding oil to the fuel is there anything I need to plug if I toss it? or are there rebuild kits for it just checking all options. so Thanks for any and all help

You did install the pump shaft in the engine didn't you? Remove pump, turn flywheel by hand and see if shaft is turning. If so, reinstall the pump and open bleed screw and let it bleed for one full minute. Remove oil linkage and move it to full oiling then start the engine. You should see the oil slowly pulsating up the line.

Shafts in there Ill take pump off just to make sure its spinning and then do all the other stuff you said. Thank you very much. Cant believe I didnt think of unhooking linkage and running on full

It was my first rebuild ever didn't have a clue as to how to do it but its done and im very happy with the results.
