oily water

I have a 1992 force 120hp in my bayliner. When I start it, it leaves a bit oily marks on the water. Engine has run hot enough for the buzzer to buzz. The motor is really easy to start, almost instant. Sparkplugs are new and of right type. (NGK BUHW). The marks appear when exhaust gas comes out of under water. At fast idle the marks are really big. So what is wrong with my engine/what should i do with it? Or is this normal, something to be not so worried about? Thanks for your help.

Re: oily water

jaba,
the correct spark plug for your motor is champion L76v, it sounds like you are dumping raw fuel overboard. Your puddling system might be clogged or defective. Does the motor run good at all speed ranges? Hopefully you have changed your water pump since the overheat buzzer has went off. Good luck, bret

If you need further assistance please email me @ forcepower01@yahoo.com.

Re: oily water

Might have blown the head gasket when the engine overheated. This will cause your engine to dump raw fuel.

TMD

Re: oily water

Engine runs great at all rpm. Changed the impeller and waterpump cup. Shoud i run a compression test to check cylinderhead gasket? Someone might have asked this before, but how much compression should there be? How much difference between the cylinders? Thank you again for your help.
