ok big boats ???how fast top speeds

maybe to some not to big .......have a chris craft Amerosport 262 ..it has a single Aq271 with dp outdrive ..book say boat dry is 6400lbs ....what should the top speed be 20-30 mph 30-40 ...

How big is too big? 37' Carver (40' LOA). Twin Mercruiser 7.4L MPI (454's).

Cruises easily @ 20-22. Tops out at 26 MPH. But, that's burning 34 GPH!!!

I am not sure about your engine but I think our boats seam close in size- your looks newer..

1984 Wellcraft 26aft cab hull repowerd with (1) 1996 7.4 Mercruiser with a BravoIII

WOT will hit 43mph @ 4600rpm -GPS -clean bottom-best conditions
I usually cruise 3200-3800rpm around 26-30mph.

3200 Mustang 32' (Aussie boat) cruise at 27 mph and 3700 rpm, goes to 5000 rpm from memory goes over 40 mpg (all GPS)
